Ya, I'm not sure. Those were the only two lines I saw.

Lol mine was made in Munich, if I recall from the VIN.

2003 325i here with 105k miles. Bought it with 100k miles, fuel pump went out at 104k. Replaced under warranty in Chicago, IL. I have a question, I was told that our M56s have different intakes, so I ordered the M56 upper-intake boot, and it was too short. I ordered a 325i boot made for the M54 now.

We do have different intakes, throttle bodies and different intake boots. A 325i M54 intake boot is too small in diameter and will not work. Our intake is the same diameter as the 330i. The intake boots have different (specific) part numbers, however.

I've replaced my upper and lower, and it may seem short, but it fits. Remember that the old one has stretched over time.

Alright, thanks. Had to stretch it a bit, but it did fit. Also, did you ever fix your stutter issue?

It was my transmission going out, unfortunately.

Ouch. I need to change mine's fluid, I can't find a decent priced ZF in my area.

When I ordered the stuff to change the fluid and filter in the new-to-me transmission, they accidentally shipped me two fill plugs and no drain plug. I was changing my tranny mount the other day and sure enough, it has a slow leak from old drain plug. Looks like I'll have to do a drain and fill with new plugs

Do the fluid change, that's a great mileage to do it at.

~95k miles. It had a fluid change at 75k. Not sure exactly why it went out.

It's emissions related so it should be. I'm surprised it didn't give a light along with the code.

yea no light. the car has just been running odd for the past few weeks. in the mornings it takes longer to start, and i have been noticing some idle fluctuations (not much maybe 600-700-800). just seems like the engine was running rough. i hooked it up to my INPA and found these codes with various frequency of occurrences:

276D faulty tank ventilation valve

CD8B local CAN communication error

27C3 oil level sensor

should i try to fix it myself? doesnt seem like it will be a lot of $$ in parts. im still not sure about the CD8B code, maybe that one will clear up on its own once the car is running efficiently again.

The tank vent valve is in the tank, I believe. Which would mean that you'd be taking it in. Here's the diagram for the tank ventilation system, if you'd like to look it over:
http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...35&hg=16&fg=10

As far as the CAN error, I'm not too sure what's going on there. Just going off of the basis that it's a CAN error, it could be any number of things. You'd have to figure out if there's any further information that can be pulled from the CD8B to pinpoint where the communication break is occurring. Also, make sure that your DME is up to date with the most current software.

Oil level sensor would not be covered, although it's not a terrible repair.

I thought the fuel tank breather valve was located near the intake manifold?

Played with the DIS and found some faults with the fuel pump. One code said "pump too low" the other said it wasn't working at all. Sporadic frequency. I think I'm going to have to take it in. Is the emissions warranty 10 years and 150k miles?

15/150k.

You mentioned the car running rough. If the fuel pump was dead then I'd think it would be more than running rough.

It did stall and die on me the other day in the freeway. Maybe that fault was stored from that time
