New e46 325xi

New here but have been on BF.C since 2007. 2002 325xi sedan 5speed.

Hello to everyone. seems like this whole section is nothing but issues with their cars. sad to see but hopefully it'll be a good car for me. Checked the whole car over, the valve cover gasket is bad which is an easy fix. Front axles inner tierods and tires then its good to go.

Nice find, mine is a 2003 steel blue, yours makes me question if I want the R/C/R tail lights. Thought I always did, but not sure it's worth the cost. Always thought it would look more modern, but really doesn't. Just different.

Nice find, looks great! Mine is Oxford Green Metallic w/tan leather, same year and manual transmission.

Keep in mind most people post with problems, rarely do they post with compliments.... Reflective of our society in general... The early E46's are over a decade old, so it does take some TLC to keep them at peak performance. I love mine, although she is no longer my daily driver, (she's my date night and weekend car). You still can't punch the grin off my face when I slide I to the cockpit, turn the key, shift to first, drop the clutch and GO! There's just something special about these cars. Take care of it and it'll get you there.

Have fun.

I have still yet to detail it.

so far

new tires
new VCG
polished headlights
oil change.

thats it. I have 02 sensors coming in this week and next week I'll order the axle I need.

question for you guys is I was told I need front axles and tierods. When I looked at it the driver side axle looks good the passenger side is toast though. How bad of an idea is it to just replace the passenger side axle for now and next month do the rest?

Haha, I was actually being serious. Don't replace an axle that's not bad just for the fun of it, we like to call that wasting money.

I know some things its smart to replace the parts on each side. Didn't know if axles were the same thing.

Congratulations, from the photos looks like you found a nice one. It pretty much looks like my '03 325xi though I have all the Roundels in black and white instead of the blue and white and my summer wheels are Breyen Mesh with black spokes and polished outer lip (run the stock wheels with winter tires in winter). I have put over 60,000 miles on mine since becoming the second owner and yes, I've had to do some maintenance, but with any vehicle over 5 years old, there is maintenance to be done. I also have the following in my garage either now or in the past; '84 318i, '85 318i, '87 325e, '89 325 ix, '91 318is and '03 330xi sport. Most of what you'll find here is owners with a problem(s) and they are seeking advice for repairs or "tuning" questions such as brakes, suspension, etc. Enjoy you car!

Woo! Love it. Doesn't look like a 250k car. I myself just passed 153k. Keeps me optimistic seeing cars with miles on them.

Cleaning those headlights makes such a huge difference, I did the same thing with my 325xi and I was so happy I did, loved the change. The car does not look like it has 250k. good looking car OP congrats
