Rebuilding the fancy wheels. Widening and swapping bent inner barrels. On plastidip stockers now.
Bout to go square as soon as I get some tires.

Yeah. The ones I was working on when down there.
Seems 2 inners are bent, plus I'm widening them.

New BMW Shop Serving Cary, Raleigh, Durham area

Folks

I found a great guy who just opened a shop in downtown Cary, called EuroTech-RTP. He specializes in BMW, Audi, Mini, VW and Mercedes.

Hes a small-business owner looking to establish his clientele. Ive had a few things done by him and he comes HIGHLY recommended. Some of you have been tipped off to him already. Please pass the word.

Hes a former BMW Mechanic, a BMW-STEP graduate and master-mechanic.

Nothing in it for me, but just tell him that I referred you to his new shop and that you heard about this from the E46Fanatics forums. I want to see him succeed.

IM me if you have any specific questions.

A number of things come to mind, in likely order of it occurring:
  1. 1 of 3 pulleys starting to come to an end (CHEAP)
  2. Possible water pump bearings starting to go bad (LESS CHEAP)
  3. Alternator pulleys going bad (RATHER EXPENSIVE)
  4. Power steering pump possibly going bad (RATHER EXPENSIVE)
  5. Abnormal air-intake around DISA valve (CHEAP)
  6. CCV has slight vacuum leak at one of its many o-ring connections (RATHER EXPENSIVE BUT PITA to Repair)

I'd start ruling out the cheap fixes and go from there until the problem is fixed.

There's a couple of car meets next weekend, I think there's FreshWise 3 in the morning of the 15th.

If you're thinking more of the 20th-End of the Month, I don't know if there's any car related stuff going on. Downtown Charlotte has the NASCAR Hall of Fame, there's the Blue Ridge Parkway with some good tunnels and great views, but it's a bit out of the way. There's the Virginia International Raceway just before you cross into North Carolina, you could see what they have going on. Possibly track your car there if you wanted. Then once you get down into Spartanburg, SC the BMW Plant is down there. They do tours and have a performance center from what I've heard. There's a few different things you could do, it really depends on how much time you want to kill, and what all interests you.
