E46: SUPER clean '02 330i SPORT, 5spd, 62k miles orig. owner

Hey guys this is my father's 2002 330i with rare sport package AND 5spd manual. It's steel grey metallic with black leather/wood trimmed interior. The car has just 62k miles and is SUPER clean. I just performed a paint correction on the exterior, re dyed all the exterior black trim including side mirror lips and mounts, and B pillars, detailed the interior and engine bay as well. My father bought this car brand new from BMW of Fairfax in 2002 so it's a one owner, adult driven car with fully documented service history. Oil changes completed every 5k miles with Mobil 1. I have NEVER seen an E46 3 series as nice as this one.

I've done a bit of work to it within the last 5k miles:
  • Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires in stock sizes (225F/245R)
  • Brake rotors, pads, and wear sensors
  • Spark plugs
  • oil changed with Mobil 1
  • Trans fluid changed
  • Rear end fluid changed
  • Cabin & air filter
  • Re-dyed the black exterior trim with Car Pro CQuartz DLux trim coating (should last years not weeks!)

I'm listing the car at $13,500 obo. Feel free to PM me with questions, but I'm listing my father's contact info below.

Clean car. Unfortunately, It will be a very hard sale at 12000-13500.

Seeing as how M3's are going for that much (granted not always as clean)

If I may 8k-10k would be more appropriate for this car. Maybe a bit more without the slight curb rash on the wheels.

Actually, I priced the car very competitively compared to other similar examples. Feel free to do an autotrader/cars.com search within 500 miles and you will see that you are mistaken. The manual trans is EXTREMELY rare, and 95% of what you will find are non sport model, auto cars. I have seen '01-'03 model year examples with sport package and close to/over 100k miles being listed in the $12-14k range. The quality and condition of this car absolutely $hits on anything else out there.

Where are you seeing E46 M3s going for 13 grand? I guarantee a $13k E46 M3 is going to be a ragged out vehicle with triple the miles. In fact, there was a guy who was trying to list his '01 M3 with close to 170,000 miles for $15.5k. I don't really see the comparison honestly. I would much rather have a 330 in this condition than a dogged out M3.

Here are some examples of what is out there right now:

80k mile '02 with sport listed at $17,000
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...Index=24&Log=0

93k mile '03 auto listed at $13k
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...gIndex=1&Log=0

77k mile '02 auto NON sport listed at $12k
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...gIndex=3&Log=0

Manual transmission and sport package are really not that rare. What is rare is having a 12yo car with only 60k on the clock.

Its a clean car, its worth good cash, but its not 'rare'

very clean

but its a 12 yrs old bmw. rubber and plastic don't age well.

i wouldn't expect $13,500 to sell very quickly if at all

idk When I was looking to replace my bimmer, there were a lot of E46 between 2000-2002 that were selling around $12-14k that weren't M3. I recall a 325ci with no packages automatic that sold for $13k it had around 50k miles.

Manual in the condition your car in is hard to find. You should do well.

This thing is gorgeous and worth every penny of the midrange price. Good luck!

Yawn....really? Your right I've been purposely not looking for the last 11 years for an E46 as nice as my father's car.

GLWS. It is a very nice looking car.

After searching for a replacement e46 for five months back in 2009 I found my current coupe which is also clean (not as clean as your Dad's). I couldn't wait any longer and paid $12,500. It had 62,000 miles on it then and came with an extra set of BMW wheels. I purchased it from a private seller in VA Beach.

I understand about the plastics, but I think KBB and NADA don't really take that into much consideration. I check every six months or so and I took a hit whenever I hit 70k. That was over a year ago I think and at almost 74k it gained a tiny bit of value according to them.

That's just my experience. Again, GLWS. If you are in no hurry you never know.

Appreciate the responses. $13,500 is the starting/listing price. He is open to reasonable offers, not firm on the price.

I'd be interested in knowing what the production numbers on E46 sedans with a manual trans are vs auto, and sport with manual. I have literally never seen another one in person, and whenever I have searched they all seem to be autos. Any idea where to find such data?
