Performance Chips

I'm still researching chipping my 330ci, pretty much I just want extra kilowatts and better take off, (if possible).

Haven't really looked to much into it, I'm still getting the cash together for it, just hoping, if anyones got any recomendations, links if possible to some I can look at.

Currently I'm looking at this, but not to sure on it, (doesnt seem to be alot of output?) any feedback would be g00t!

Thanks!!

Short of supercharging there are not huge performance gains to be had from our motors......
but in improving the tune there are refinements to be had in the drivability........

Talk with Worx..... he also has tunes for our cars.......

11kw and 21nm is plenty from just a tune/reflash.

If that is true of course. I'd like to see some charts to prove it before buying though.

Stephen from Worx flashed my 325ci and it makes a big difference, you wont notice the difference straight away but after a of day of driving you will notice a pretty nice difference. Definitely worth speaking with him.

As Peter said do pulleys, from what I have heard you get a pretty noticeable difference.

Irrelevant, but I ordered the pulleys for my SC from the manual kit, not auto, +PSI

I've had cam work done on my 330ci, however I've never driven a 330 without it (the previous owner did all the internal work) so I can't actually give you a comparison!

Stephen at Worx is doing an ECU remap/tune for me. Took the car in yesterday and he did the ECU read, and when I come back next week he'll upload it. Its a tune done by ESS tuning, supposed to make a noticeable difference expecially off the line. I'll tell you next week though!

This is from Powerchip Australia...

Datasheets

Your BMW 330i E46 3.0 MY01 contains the latest technology ECU that can be re-programmed through the on-board diagnostic port (OBD-II). Specialised software interfaces with your vehicle's engine management system to extract the electronic code via serial download. Once the information has been read, Powerchip technicians apply the performance changes and upload the performance program back through the OBD-II port. Installation cannot be performed by the end user. Programming must occur at an Authorized Powerchip Office or at authorised Powerchip Platinum dealers. The programming takes approximately 2 hour's to complete.

In standard form, the 330i E46 3.0 MY01 produces 170 kW and 300 Nm.
Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to 180 kW, and it's torque to 318 Nm.

The price of the Powerchip is AUD $990.00.

Seems like a lot of money, or is this the norm?

Performance Chips

Diff gears will make a difference you will feel, as long as you don't go too high. 3.38 I installed would have been, in my opinion, spot on with 18's or 19's, with an na motor. Manual or auto?
