Why pay few bucks where you can get it for free. You need to buy protein at some point.

Eat lots of clean food and lift heavy, it works. I want to max again on bench, it's been a few months, but I want to be at 315 next time I max. It's a lofty goal but I'll get there.

Take my advice with a grain of salt because I don't know if it's what got me over the hump or it's the food.

I did 225 as my max last time towards the end of last winter and barely got it. I hardly benched at all since then and really just do a lot of pressing and weighted ring rips.

I think you're expecting that progress will happen at a much faster pace than it will actually happen at. Like your deadlift...it's not going to increase 30 lbs in the last week of the month. If it does its just because you had a good day, not that you got 30 lbs stronger.

Exactly right. After a certain point things just don't shoot up. I'm perfectly fine with this. It makes my pr's that much more meaningful.

Today did a ton of split jerks. Nothing really heavy at all. Working on technique before I try heavy weights.
95x5x3
115x5x3
135x3x10
155x1x3

Tabata push presses with 65 I got 96 reps. You guys should try it.

Also tabata air squats I got 126.

i know that i'm not going to get that much stronger in a short period
what i'm hoping for is that there's still some untapped potential inside
and it's more a matter of getting good sleep, good food, good warmup
attempting the max at my peak condition
utilizing perfect form
so maybe i can squeeze out more than i did the last time without necessarily getting "stronger"

in the end, i made huge gains and i'm happy
it'd just be really nice if i got those "round" numbers for my maxes

On paper my workouts seem easy but damn they make me winded

Worked up to a heavy double power clean
135x5
155x2
165x2
185x2
195x1,f stopped there

50 chin ups

5 rounds
12 70lb kb swings
10 toes to bar
God that killed my grip. I almost fell off the bar lol

Ended with 30 15lb slamballs.
Insane how much this works my lats. The stretch at the top is nice.

Dyllos' New goal and progress thread

Thursday
Squat 10x2 increasing weight by 10 each set
Started at 155 and ended at 255

Then this. Which I loved and recommend to everyone
Pick a weight you think you can get 7 strict presses of
Do 5 strict then max rep push press
I chose 125 and did 7 push press,5, 7

Then some push jerk practice

Finished with 50 ball slams for time
1:35. Feels so good.

Friday
285x5x3 deadlift

Banded pull ups. Amazing. I am bad at pull ups and using a band really gets that feel I missed in my back.

Metcon
With 225lbs
12 deadlifts 3 burpees
9 deadlifts 6 burpees
6 deadlifts 9 burpees
3 deadlifts 12 burpees
Time-3:45

Today
Clean then max rep front squats
Used 135 and 155 as working sets
Got 10-13 front squats with 135 and 5-8 with 155

Then the fun metcon
100 ring push ups.
*anytime you stop you have to immediately sprint 50 yards

I ended up sprinting 4 times. At 35, 51,71,92. Then I sprinted to end it.
