Vanos Delete via tuning? Thinking out loud.

Sorry, wrong forum. Re posted in tuning.

I have a 2000 323i and have too much money into the car to get rid of so it'll become a project car eventually. Im just in the planning stages and tossing around some ideas. I thought it would be cool to swap in a different 6 cylinder but use the same dme (with a tune of course) so I can retain the traction control. One of the only major drawbacks I can forsee with this is the lack of VANOS on the donor motor. Can VANOS be deleted from the DME via tune? Or can a VANOS simulator be plugged in to harness to fool the DME? Any insight would be appreciated. Most of my racing and modding experience is with American cars (built over 20 so far) but know enough to know that german and japanese electronics are finnicky creatures. Thanks.
