Can I get a solid answer on aux connectivity?

I have an 02 330i, built in 2/02, business CD (cd 53, SW 47)
I understand the aux is for 9/02 or newer, but I pulled out my headunit and next to the port where the CD changer harness is plugged into, there is an identical, un-used port right next to it. Can this be used for the aux? I don't want to purchase the kit and find out it does not work in the empty port.
Help anyone?

No it can not. 03+ units have the function, but you can use a Dice type of module.

Re: Can I get a solid answer on aux connectivity?

Any other words? I'm not sure why they would just put a port that won't be used next to the cd changer

Re: Can I get a solid answer on aux connectivity?

The port next to that is exactly for the aux input. I speak from experience as I've purchased the genuine bmw aux input and installed it in that very same location you've described. I have an 02 330i m-tech 1.

is yours a CD53 with the right date code? Every business class cd player has the port there, they don't all do something.

I purchased this 4 months ago and installed it with absolute ease. No problem at all and it plugged right up. It was $21 in at amazon when I purchase it; seems like it's gone up!

I too have a 02 330. I went on the safe side and went with one of the Enfig adapters. Everyone seems to think highly of them. It will be here tomorrow so I'll be able to comment more after I install it.

Re: Can I get a solid answer on aux connectivity?

So obviously he has sw-47, which falls between the "sw-43 or higher" for compatibility which means he's good to go. I sent you the link for the aux kit, op. Enjoy.

Thanks for the help yall! I will be ordering the part from ecs tuning, along with a long euro tray to run the cable to (cupholders are overrated)

Yes. Got it from my local bmw thievery center (BMW of Dallas) and works as it should. Got the plate installed in the coin tray.
Thanks to all that helped! The chart really cleared everything up
