Hardtop Installation Kit Question

I've been searching for a couple days and just want to clarify something. Does the hardtop installation kit ONLY provide power to the hardtop or does it also provide the mounting hardware? I found one thread that said it only supplies power. Need to know because driving 4 hours to pick up a hardtop and the last thing I need is for it to not clamp down. Dealership says it should work without any kit but I'm reading otherwise in the forums.
Thanks y'all!

The kit is both mounting and power.

Most Canadian verts have the kit from the factory. Remove the tab where the hard top mounts and check if your car has it.

ditto, both power and mounting for rear part of roof. In theory you could drop it on without the kit and lock only the front part to the windshield frame, but I wouldn't drive like that, it might be too much stress on the front mount points.

you should still check if you have the kit installed, PO might have had it done at dealer when purchased new
