Will coilovers designed for an E46 coupe work on a sedan?

I've been looking around for coilovers and I know m3 ones work if you change the top mount, so I was wondering if coupe's would work for a sedan.

As long as neither is an Xi, you're good to go.

why not just buy coilovers designed for the sedan? i know buying shocks they fit either sedan/coupe so it SHOULD be ok... same chassis. just check item description before buying!

Coilovers for sedans are more rare than the one for Ms or coupes, so being able to buy any set would open up my selection by a lot
And I don't exactly have the money to just go buy a new set for a sedan though I would love to

Keep in mind new bushings, control arms, and sway bars will make driving a million times better-enjoyable than lowering spring on a wore out suspension system. This is no joke.

M3 Coilovers are different. Non-M, NonXi suspension is interchangeable.
