Question what to do with ground venison?

female friend gave me some ground venison. I made a burger and it didn't taste so good... kinda like dry beef. I have 1.7lbs left.

what else can I do with it? I've heard jerky is a good option.

i was hoping you would say deer chili

in addition, you could make little tiny deer balls out of it (lol) or just keep it ground, cook it, and then make a spicy deer soup with it. Chop up some carrots, potatoes, and veggie broth. Add something spicy to it, and then i would add cabbage at the last minute or two of cooking.

My friends father makes a spicy venison soup and it is KILLER.

Venison sticks are great, family in PA hunts and theirs tastes good, too late for Jerky now. Venison chili is amazing, like others said.

my father in law shoots my wife and i a deer every year. haven't bought ground beef in 3 years. the ground venison is mixed with pork lard i think, otherwise it is so lean i imagine it would be dry. we use it for burgers, chili, tacos, pasta sauce, anything where you would use ground beef. plain burgers i could see being a little dryer. i usually make them stuffed.

We make jerkey with ground venison or elk. use a chefs gun to squeeze out "stripes" of the meat on bakers sheets. then stick them in the smoker. Works great and not as tough to bite or chew..

For ground venison I use it for Enchiladas, or spaghetti sauce.. Swedish Meatballs come out great with 1 part ground pork to two parts venison..
