LED Brake Light not Working

2004 330Ci Vert.

LED brake light on the drivers side is not working, all others are working correctly.

Is there any way I can;

1. test the wire harness to make sure there is no broken wire or something,

2. test the LED tail light to see if the brake lights will light?

Is there a tester I can make out of some sort of parts to test the harness?

Hate to go spend like $200 for a new tail light and that not bee the problem.

Do these lights have any problems in general? Can I maybe take the light apart and look for a broken solder joint to the board?

I don't have anyone to swap with, my friend have bulbs for tails and not LEDs. Would I be able to swap left and right to test, are they pinned the same?

Thanks.

Start with taking the back of the light out and check for any issues with the plug, corrosion, etc.

Wanted to update this since I just found the information for the pinouts for the LED factory tail lights.
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=813669

So from this it looks like I can switch the left and right to test if it is the actual tail light that is bad. I didn't want to do this unless I was sure it was the same so not to blow something out. In the morning I'll have a look at it.

Well I figured it out....moved the Left LED over to the right harness and low and behold it didn't work when stepping on the brakes with the lights on. With the lights off, it works dim but not full bright. With lights on it just stays dim and not bright. In a way that is good since I now know it is not the wiring harness.

So now I need a clear cover drivers side rear LED....factory prefered. Any one have a used one that works......let me know.....thanks.
