Sometimes Cryptsy slows down a lot or takes a while to confirm coins in your account. Also, if you sell a lot very quickly, it could mess up and accidentally show that you have coins in your account when you don't... so if you try to sell them it'll give you a negative balance and the only way to fix that is by buying the negative balance back.

As for the amount of details... I've never used VoS, but I used Coinbase, and Coinbase asked for plenty of detail as well (including my login in for my bank account), I haven't had any problems though...

Also for people who use Mt. Gox, they had to send a bunch of info including name, address, passport, etc.

I use coinbase for USD/BTC. Once you have BTC you can trade it for anything at tons of different places. I wouldn't trust a direct USD to altcoin exchange, but that's just me.

I have never actually bought any coins though. I only get them through mining. My only investment so far is the cost of my new videocard which should be done paying for itself next month.

I'm itching to pull the trigger on a sell order... It just keeps going up though. What's its all time high? 272 or something?

That's it, I'm buying in finally. Probably should have done it a long time ago but I feel like it's better to do it now than after the halving.

Signed up on bter and cryptsy. Historically (lol, 30 days) bter has had marginally higher prices.

I put in a sell order for about a third of mine at 300. It's back down to 250 now though. Fingers crossed.
