Stick to legal. In some states they are very strict about it. Learn to drop your windows or turn on your interior light around cops if illegal. Do both if pulled over.

If you don't mind me asking, what did it run you?

I'm in need of something bigger and a GS might do the trick if the price is cheap enough, otherwise I'm going with something big like a 4Runner or Sequoia. Just have to be able to fit 3 car seats across.

Should be around $25k.

My sticker was $53k loaded new in 2007.

Carmax has them from:

$18k for a 2007 with 80k miles to
$25k for a 2007 with 25k miles.
$30k for a 2008 with 16k miles.
$26k for a 2009 with 39k miles.
$30k for a 2010 with 41k miles.

There are def some great deals out there on a great car.

I just hate it when I see one all ghetto'd out.

All of the cars I am considering hold their value too well (MDX, 4Runner, Sequoia, etc.)

^ Look into the Pilot, cheaper version of the MDX. If you can find an EX-L with nav, it'll be cheaper than the MDX and have nearly all the same features.

I would like to but the styling is that of a shoebox....just terrible. If the wife likes it enough I can give it to her and just take her mdx

Agreed, it does look like a box but the interior is one of the most functional ones on the market this side of a minivan. The back of the MDX tapers down so you can't fit all that much crap in it at one time and also greatly limits the headroom in the third row. This isn't an issue on the Pilot. There's also tons of space to store sh!t on the inside. Depends on what you need it for I guess.

My parents bought one last year and it looks like crap from the outside but the functionality of the interior is truly impressive. I'd say it's equally as functional as the Odyssey they had before but has 4WD and can tow a boat.

Got mine for 21.5k, asking price was 22. They had offers for 21, but I got tired of waiting so I jumped the gun.

as a heads up, resale on these cars are very good, making it kinda hard to find used. my cousin/car broker wasn't even seeing em in dealer auctions, and the few he did see had too many miles. I lucked out, found my car private party from an old lady who drove 5-6k miles a year when they bought it in 09.

it's a great value for the price, mine is loaded with almost everything. really loving it so far.

So that car is barely breaking 30K miles?! It was barely broken in by that old lady.

47k on that car is nothing....you can drive it a long time without headaches. Always liked those with the 5 spoke wheels like yours.

That is still VERY good considering that the car is loaded and unmolested since it was driven by an older lady. Have you looked at the Lexus forums to see what problems other owners have dealt with and how many miles they have driven before experiencing major problems (transmission or engine related)?

thanks! the wheels are pretty nice for stock 18s. really glad I didn't get RFT's, heard the factory ones were crap and noisy as hell

yeah im gonna hang on to this one for a good while.

recently signed up on clublexus, haven't gotten too deep into tranny/engine issues. the car did have a recall service performed to fix the valve springs. I live really close to a reputable well known indie shop so no stealership for me!

My Ride: A car
Nice car, that body GS was always my favorite. Only negative is the lack of trunk space for a car in that class.
