It is civil as long as it was a party and you guys were not throwing chairs through windows and such.

You are responsible for replacement not upgrades.

Quite frankly, if you guys were acting the fool, deal with the repercussions.

If they want $700 try to settle for $500 in 5 weekly payments of $100.

Be humble and respectful. Explain your situation. No one feels bad for BMW driving smart azz.

If they have security cameras, then they know who broke the pot.

If your "friend" is that much of a jackass that he won't pay some of it, give them his name and info and tell them to go after him.

Make the other party goers chip in. You will find out fast who your friends really are.

JMO.

should've just went to a kohl's or other discount store and replaced the broken pot with an equally cheap flower pot. then you should've filled the pot with sand, kicked it over, and then pounded it

My savings has been depleted due to bills. We've all been there please don't condescend. I've had the car for about 3 years and my situation has changed over the past four months. For the latter end of my life in maryland, I was making just under $1000 a week and living with my parents, which was plenty for me to afford the m3 and anything else I needed along the way. Especially since I had no major bills to pay. I now live in north carolina to go to school and I'm not making anywhere near what I was, and now have my own bills to pay.

Trust me, if I would've known my financial status was going to be this nonexistent, I would've taken more steps to prepare for it. Obviously with relocating there are always unexpected turns but I didn't think I would be struggling as much as I am. We've all had our share of hard times and this happens to be mine and unfortunately, I'm sure it wont be the last.

Owning an m3 doesnt make you rich and doesnt require being rich, it just means you were fortunate enough to afford the car in the first place. I do all of the maintenance and repairs myself so owning the car isn't a huge expense for me. The subframe has been reinforced, vanos, solenoid pack, exhaust hub have all been replaced. I've done all of the scheduled maintenance so it's not like the car gets neglected due to my lack of finances, and no major repairs are in my near future as far as I can determine (knock on wood). So me owning an m3 doesnt necessarily have any correlation with my financial situation. If anything it's just a combination of bad luck and being unprepared.

I just hope I can resolve this situation quickly and painlessly. I have $700 but I cant afford to spend it on something like this. My money needs to be used strictly for bills and emergencies. And quite frankly, this predicament isnt an emergency; its more BS than anything in my opinion.
