Greece has a poverty problem, due in part to the amount of illegal immigrants in the nation, which consists of almost 9% of its total population. :-/

They have huge, huge issues other than immigration, but to put things into prospective, it would be like the United States having 30 million illegal immigrations in it.

Greece is considered the most xenophobic country in the EU. I wouldn't model myself after Greece.

Greece has many many many problems. Immigration is one of many. However, deporting all the unskilled uneducated immigrants to get them off the government's dime would be a step in the right direction.

Are you Greek or have you lived or worked there? Not to derail this thread too much. Just curious.

No, but my second Master's thesis is no the European Union's financial crisis, and Greece is the go-to case study. I studied Greece's problems in depth for over a year, and still do. Its a fascinating country, which is quite beautiful and definitely worth a vacation.

It however, is a victim of corruption, political correctness, and the idea of "European Unity."

It now has no sovereignty and is governed almost exclusively by Brussels.

Gold and Silver in numbered vaults in Switzerland is the key.

Anything that can be digitised and sent through any one of the 4 main economic eco-systems is traceable and thus "confiscateable". (See Cyprus last March)

You can still be independently wealthy, just buy solid bullion while the price is down, (thanks to central bank Money Morning Monkey Slams) and stick it somewhere where Socialists cannot confiscate it "for the common good."

No, but I would sell an appendage to work for that guy.

Gold Silver, and after the collapse trade it DIRECTLY for real estate. Gold and Silver now have the characteristics of counter-cyclical assets. When times are bad, due to the increasing monetary base, the more value these will have, when compared to real estate, or other fixed asset classes.

You'll see a gold/silver peak at the same time there is a real estate bottom. When you can pickup a home for 500 or so ounces of silver, dump into real estate, and then become a landlord and retire.

Are you also a proponent of the gold standard?

Absolutely not.

I don't have a problem with fiat, but I have a problem with fiat manipulation, especially when it is for political purposes.

No one is omnipotent. That being said -- Schiff is much closer than that hack Krugman.

This thread is about Peter Schiff. He complained that The Daily Show misrepresented his views and requested for the full interview to be released. I, of course, can't do that, so I did the next best thing: posted a three hour podcast where he's completely uncensored and uncut. Another member and I discussed the contents. You come in and proclaim your admiration for him, only minutes after to disagree with one of his main principles. Then you post pictures of Bernanke, Hurricane Sandy and Krugman. Who's off topic?

EDIT: My apologies. I thought we were in the other thread. I don't think I'm wrong. I'm just in the wrong place.
