My Ride: 2003 330 ci
Transmission fluid

Ok I just found out that my BMW takes ESSO ATF - LT 71141, but there is a universal fluid at a local auto parts store is it safe to use this type of fluid.

Jespinoz.could work or will work? Im about todo change the tranny fluid and dont wanna go with dealer fluid.thxs

I changed the fluid 30k miles ago, and has worked just perfect, based on this experience I can say "will work".

For automatic 330s we suggest Redline D4, for manuals either Redlin MTL or MT-90 depending on which transmission label is on the car. HERE is a link to our transmission service kits for reference.
