Its nothing more than a body awareness issue. Don't think about it so much and let the bar follow the path back down of least resistance. Follow the exact same movement pattern as you did on the way up, just in reverse.

Well said. Aaron, what kind of program are you following now? Is it primarily strength, or more of a Strength and Conditioning thing?

My strongman comp season is coming up so I've been mostly event days and strength into my programming. Conditioning? Whats that? Reps over 5?

Thanks for the correction

Around the :15 sec mark, you can go straight down instead of trying to sit back and stay really upright.

Thanks for the feedback fellas. So as far as the eccentric portion of this lift went, I think I can say that isn't my "true" form in the sense that I end like that every rep. Reason being was the very last time prior to this day of deadlifting, I did 315 and let it hit the floor pretty hard, and one of those dweeby gym floor supervisors came over and gave me a big ear full about the noise etc etc. So on this particular lift he was actually just out of range of the camera watching me and in my head I was like okay I'm going to sit this down as lightly as humanly possible. I just need to be a bit less reserved and not be afraid to make noise when putting the bar down and I think my eccentric portion will come back to where it should be. I'll have to post another video next back day which should be any day now. 335 is my current max, and I think I got it up pretty easy, I didn't have to fight too hard for it here. First day maxing out in a very long time so I think I can probably pull more than that. Maybe I'll try 365 and just give it everything.

Should have asked the guy what the hell they have those platforms for then. And I would take it slow on the max attempts, 30 lbs is a lot to jump up on DLs and you don't want to risk injury, you'll get there eventually.

here's 3/5 reps with 325 last night

CrossFit footballs 1x5 heavy set with 10lb increases per week is working wonders. I was probably doing 275 a little over a month ago.

Slight back rounding but I've been reading a lot about it. Doesn't seem to be much of an issue as long as lower back isn't round.

Decent form. Whenever I see that thoracic rounding I cringe.. I know we've beat it to death and the general consensus is it's ok, still makes my back ache watching it. Haha

I feel great today. Did a lot of reading about it yesterday. Not worried about it at all. Today actually feels like I hardly did anything. Later on and tomorrow may be a different story though.

585# from a 5" deficit done beltless. It was a friendly challenge with a fellow strongman competitor across the country.

awesome, man. I'm starting to really like deadlifting. Hated it when I was stuck at lower weight.
