Not just another Compact

Hi there

Quick history : got myself a 320tda some years ago. Always loved this car for its color (flamencorot outside, taninrot and black inside) and several cool features it had (16/9 GPS, sport chassis, M package, nice Alpina 18" rims). Unfortunately, i don't like diesel, i prefer manual transmission, i was lacking several options and it had many small injuries on the bodywork that would be expensive or hard to fix.

So i found a nice 325 Ti. 150k km (95k miles), feels great, very clean, and has several very nice features like the engine (of course ^^), the sunroof or the audio hifi pack, which is not supposed to be as good as the HK we find in standard E46 but it's the biggest audio option in the Compact and should greatly improve sound quality.
I'm going to pick it up by the end of next week, but here are some pictures already :

What i've bought and upgrades planned so far :
- swap interiors between the 2 Compacts so the new one will have a taninrot interior
- install the 16/9 GPS with MkIV and BM54 flashed with MP3 (i hope the harness installed is the right one)
- custom M steering wheel (black OEM leather + taninrot OEM seams)
- illuminated M gearshift
- essential cup holders
- M doorsteps and footrest
- new badges
- new lateral door fenders
- adding automatic lights
- new set of Alpina rims (mine were 9" on the front, and it's not allowed, so i bought a 8" and 9" set) that i'll probably get dark grey painted
- M3 seats full electrical (so i can enjoy the 12 directions adjustment and the memorys) and heated
- M3 mirrors powered and fold-in (wish my luck so i can fit this)
- modules and harnesses for mirrors and seats
- actuators and mechanisms for powered rear windows (will have to investigate this one)
- and last but not least, a M54B30

More pics next week when i pick up the car and start this project for real

Good luck with the project! The Taninrot inside of that black beauty will be a winner!

Not going to swap it as it's a bit damaged in several spots, but i'm going to install a brand new one, yes I'm considering getting it painted anthrazit for the rear kind-of-diffuser and the front grills, so i can get a little bit of contrast with the rest of it being black. Not sure yet.

Except the color (black is more mainstream), it will be, for sure. Thanks anyway

I am ****ing jealous of everyone who owns or can own a compact.
Moreover, there is no word to describe how awesome that rot interior is.
Is the top of the dash was re-wrapped or was it an option from factory?

And i'm jealous of american resident because they can easily get 60/70' muscle car and parts, so we're even

The top of the dash was factory red when you ordered this interior, and i don't think you could get it black unless you go individual. The red interior i have got no modifications at all. Only M-packet, rims, Xenon headlights, rear lights from facelift and some small bodywork has been added to the 1st car.

Oh, so you've got a blue compact with "not-blue" interior ? Nice !
When i was looking for my new Compact, ideally i was aiming for blue or red, as these are 2 nice colors, in my opinion much better than white/grey/black that we always see on the road. But unfortunately, in France and Germany, most of the blue Compacts come with a blue interior, which is not wonderful, especially considering the damn ugly blue dashboard I'd rather have it beige, grey or even white

Very nice. I would only change the floor covering for a black one, but it's definitely a classy interior
