without an experienced tuner, how do you know that you have the SMG tables setup properly? Is Garth tuning the car?

This is not my first rodeo. At one point in time I was using SCT and tuning local Mustangs...the items I've gone into so far have not been much more advanced then that, save for this torque reduction stuff.

If the documentation was better, this might be a non-issue. The documentation is terrible, plain and simple. Without accurate definitions, of course it's going to be trial and error...

Garth will be tuning E85, after the car is prepared, if we get to that point.

I'm closing in on the 'nope, not gonna happen' point - I have done what Jason's said in my thread on the ProEFI site, and while I've reduced the slip to 0 during normal operation, it does not seem to trigger...and I'm running out of patience.

I've sent out pleas of help to one dealer and one sort-of dealer, and waiting for them to get back to me. If nothing comes of that, then I'm going to put the ProEFI up for sale.

The unit works, just not for me and my transmission.

Pin J1A25 on the pro efi, two micro switches on the gear selector for up and down to a relay, and maybe an electro magnetic switch mounted on the clutch actuator, all 12 volt supply inline. Will force a traction control request at gear change. Might this work??? Also wondering if you have connected wheel speeds from dsc, I wonder if the pro efi needs driven and un driven wheel speed seperate to can to operate the torque reduction so it knows where it stands. Out on a limb on this, but really hoping you don't give up with on this stage of the project.

I have non-driven and driven wheel speeds via CAN. They are correct.
I had to fudge the gear ratios up a bit higher to make the slip % go to zero.
Still does not trigger.
CAN based torque reduction requests will not be implemented for the BMW. The support is there, but I already asked and the work will not be done.
I have given my last tune + log to two excellent tuners. If either of them can get it working, I'll keep going, but I'm not particularly hopeful. In all likelihood I will be uninstalling the unit and putting it up for sale in the next week or so.

No update on the ProEFI front as of yet. I assume both are busy with the stuff in Texas.

I wrote Garth yesterday, and the bottom line is that he also thinks it should be working, and would have to see the car in person to figure out what's going on.

At this point I'm just cleaning up some things like getting Decel Fuel Shutoff to work nicely (which involves working on the DeltaTPS stuff a bit), but as soon as I get my car to MaxPSI, I'll have them remove the O2 sensor and I'm going back to the DME.

Plans after that are not set in stone.

FWIW, decel cutoff doesnt involve delta tps. unless you meant the acceleration enrichment tables. And those you do not touch until you have a complete VE map 100% dialed in.

Being more clear...cleaning up the transition into dfco by working on the negative deltatps portion of the table...and the VE table is unused in a MAF setup...

After putting spark control back to DME, I realize that the power level I'm at is already quite fun.

I have some maintenance items which need to be addressed on the car, and at that time the ProEFI will be uninstalled. When I know what's happening for certain, I'll start a new thread with the new plan.

Good to hear you are back to enjoying the car Matt.

I don't care who makes the hardware, if you using it makes you frustrated, a change is needed.

I have it up for sale:

If anyone has any suggestions of other places to put it up, they're appreciated.
