Is this a ball bearing or journal bearing unit? What's the performance difference between the ball bearing option if any at all?

I think its the best choice because the kit is designed so well for flow it brings the turbo on very fast but still allows you some room to "drive under the spool of the turbo". So the car will get good gas mileage and not be spooling every time you move your foot.

The kit comes with a journal bearing, with the ball bearing being an option. As for performance difference, the turbo gets going just a tad quicker, but not much. Main difference is in durability, the ball bearing being better. Our shop car used the base journal bearing turbo.

My Ride: Turbo M3 Convertible
Saad, I am going to be coming to you soon for my engine build. Already have your Stage 3 + fuel system, ProEFI & 4" exhaust. I bought J.R's kit and am going to be installing it in a convertible. Let's try and make mine hit the 10's.

I live about 40 mins from the Texas Motorplex (Ennis) which is around 500' altitude.

One potential problem is that it is an SMG car, let me know if I need to get rid of that and go to 6MT. The torque maps seem to be an issue still on big power SMG's.

Your kit is very well made and your intake is a work of art. The 3.5" downpipe to 4" Vband is badass as well!
