basic audio help in Chicago

Anybody around the chicagoland area that could help me with some basic audio stuff? My front midbass has blown so forced upgrade. I'm thinking for the moment just put a set of components up front with an amp in the near future.

The problem is I have zero clue about audio. I have researched a ton and understand the processes, but I know literally nothing. I enjoy DIYing and can turn a wrench but don't know how all the wiring goes and my soldering skills leave something to be desired.

So yeah... Anybody willing to help out with picking out speakers and a very basic install? I'm willing to drive and compensate to a point, plus beer, but like most people I'd prefer to keep it relatively inexpensive - otherwise i'd just drop it off at a shop and say have at it.

I used to install car audio for a living. I'd be glad to help. Bring your car and some beer and let's get it done.
