Do the blue gas (petrol) caps fit our Australian cars?

Hi,

My fuel cap rubber doesn't seal well, so I want to change it. They're pretty cheap on Ebay for the genuine part.

Has anyone tried to fit this blue (part no. 16117222391) to their AU car?
Strictly reading RealOEM, it's not the right part number. But looking at a few youtube videos, people (USA) are changing their old green one for this blue model.

The seller says it won't fit! But I suspect the only difference is the text/decals on the cap will be American.

Anyone actually tried it?

Can't find it at a reasonable price + postage.
New part is re-engineered, maybe it's better(?).

I've got a line on a group buy from Lithuania, will need 110 pre orders.

It will fit, but Schmiedmann does the legit part for around 50 bucks shipped. Do that, or surely it's not that much from BMWAU.

I haven't asked what it'd cost here, I think it would just make me angry to find out.

The E90 style blue ones are $22 on ebay (genuine), I bought one, and then the seller told me it won't fit, I told him to send it anyway and he refunded me!
