My Ride: M3
honestly,

probably a first-gen Cayman S. I looked at one while i was looking at the M3. The m3 just seemed more practical.

in the real world though, probably an Audi S4 avant

My Ride: 00' 323i Manual
If BMW didnt exist I would have probably bought Civic si / WRX / miazda as my first car (not the 323i)

And the car that I am saving up for now would be either an NSX or a Supra, with none of the M cars (e46/e86/e39/e34/e90) in the mix. Now, Im just not sure of what car to buy next... so many BMW M cars each of which is awesome in their own way, and so many 90's Japanese legends. I want to buy ALL the cars.

Bottom line, a car that I would actually own long term is either a small/medium BMW or a 90's - 00's Japanese sportscar. I have great respect for Mustangs, Corvettes, Porsches but I just dont see myself owning/driving one right now. With that said I will make it a must to take a testdrive of the Mustang GT next summer. I want to like that car, but the fact that there is one on every corner puts me off. A second gen CTSV would be a great alternative to the M5 (once the price goes down), and I would rather have it as my car over any offerings from Audi, Lexus or Mercedes.

I dont care fore modern Lexi, Audis (North American model range), and Mercs. I was excited about the S3, but it only came with S-tronic to the states. Letdown

If I couldn't have my 325Ci I probably would have settled for an R8 or something like that.

I've two opinions here , I'm a multiple car owner some think it's a problem I disagree lol so I'm not a bmw only man , but if the other half of the German sector didn't exist VAG would rule the world and I have another Lancia integralle evo , so agile so responsive and so determined everything is still following in it's wake , that's if driving is your priority whilst owning a car as is mine and if you'd experienced one we'd be in agreement , I should have never sold it , Nee .
