To be honest, they are all good. Far superior to that bullsh!t salad in a bun called the chicago dog

I've always preferred grays vs papaya king for instance (but will hit a papaya king if Im in the mood for a chili dog.) Sometimes, Im in the mood for a dirty water, and the papaya style dogs don't cut it. It all depends on my hotdog mood. Dirty waters need to be sabretts though...none of that imitation crap. Even nathan's Im not big on (wayyyyy too salty.)

With the carts, the trick is, to know what kind of cart food you want. The arab dudes are kings of rice and lamb. The greeks are kings of meat on a stick. You'll see a lot of mexican dudes now running halal carts, so watch out for those impostors. Some cart owners "made it big" and now hire people to do the cooking/running of em, and the quality just isn't the same when the owner isn't there himself doing his thing.

just look for the long lines or hard to get reservations. you'll fit right in to the pretentious asshole crowd that mostly chow down on shitty food and just want to be noticed and say they went to the "happening spot".

personally, i think the dirty water dogs suck; i love the snap of the casing from a hot dog cooked on a grill/griddle. i always go for the red onions and some mustard. those f-ing onions stink up your breath for 12 hours, but god i love them

Glad that I created a useful thread.

I work right around the corner of the Halal guys, try not to eat it too often as it's high in calories, but delicious.

Team lamb as well.

I'd be 600lbs if I worked near a good halal cart. I make it a point to get some everytime Im in the city, its one of the VERY few things I miss since moving out of NYC.
