Windscreen wash reservoir empties overnight...

Hi,

Windscreen wash reservoir won't hold screen wash. Have removed, nothing obviously wrong. Empties from full overnight.

Leak is under reservoir (drivers side).

Any suggestions, washers seem ok?

Cheers.

I'm battling the same problem currently and bought a box of mixed sized vacuum hose plugs and have plugged various parts of the system, filled it back up with water and waited for the leak.
In my case it was the washer motor itself (not the one for the headlights).

Additionally, there are several threads about this topic - try doing a search.

If you don't have a headlight washer system, then I would suspect the washer jet motor or rubber plug maybe the cause of your leak. The rubber plugs are a cheap fix and motors can be found online for $10-20. If the reservoir is cracked, a used one should be readily available. I see them on eBay all the time from people parting out their E46s. Good luck!

Fuffa123...I had the same issue last month in my '05 330Cic. I pulled the reservoir out & checked for leaks around the pump but all looked ok. I eventually found that it was leaking from the barbed connector at the small outlet tube. Cut a small amount of the end of the black tube off & reconnect. I believe the tube takes a set after time & allows the fluid to leak past.
