Doing research on a Windows ICE

So, I've had the idea of setting up a Nexus 7 (removable) in my Altima for a while but never had the time to actually go through with the project. I was planing on using the Nexus 7 dock to provide charge via USB and audio via 3.5mm connection. Route that to a equalizer and then to an amp and then have the speak connections go through there. Basically I wanted to not have a head unit at all. Like I said, I never did more then brainstorm and research this.

Then, looking at the Dynavin and the similar clones of head units running android, it got me thinking about a prefab solution. However, I love Windows 8 and I started to ponder using a Windows 8in tablet instead of the Nexus.

So I did some research and came across this company, E3iO and this product of their's http://e3io.com/custom-computers-car-pc

Now all it is is a custom case with an iTX setup and some custom connectors. The problem installing this in an E46 is, there wouldnt be enough clearance to install it. Then I started to think, how can I recreate their setup but with a SFF pc like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856101142. Then use a touch screen like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...9SIA50M1MJ5293 mounted on the front. Again, this is all just quick brainstorming. That monitor has 800x400 display and then again there is the need for a power invert for both devices. Honestly thats aaaaaaaalot of work IMO.

So I started looking into the 1st idea of using a tablet but running windows 8. something like this http://www.dell.com/us/p/dell-venue-...ll-venue-8-pro

Anyways, I need to go to bed (or rather try to). Going to pickup my 1st E46 tomorrow morning.
