Engine light e46 328ci

I have a problem with The yellow engine light on My e46
The car runs great when cold and if you drive it carefully.
The problem often comes up when I drive it hard or under load just after a a Cruise(cruisecontroll at 70mph then slow down and accelerate after the exit)

I have checked The codes with inpa and gets:
Misfire cyl 2

Avtivate grid controlled cooling

Any ideas?

Sorry for my bad english/ a swedish e46fantic

Thermostat housing needs replacing
Misfire could be from a bad coil pack/boot or spark plug. You aren't getting lean codes so I would start there.

That's definatly a bad coil... It's gonna break down completly at some point and you will notice it.
Your engine will run out of balance and it will shake. You will also loose engine power.

Do you also notice less RPM when in idle? Cause I had to replace a coil 3 times now and I had the exact symptoms as you have. I also noticed that the RPM dropped. Like, when the RPM's stay consistant the hole time, the coils are all good. But if you see your RPM change a little... sometimes a little more and then a little less, in idle, it means 1 coil is unstable.

A coil is like 45 euro. Just buy a new one and replace it in cilinder 2. Problem solved.
