So is this unit $499 or $799? Website says $799 but signature says $499 and links to website

Nevermind, I see that the $499 is for a different unit

Price is a little steep for me right now but this is exactly what I was looking for in a head unit. Ill have to wait till the price drops or buy it used.

My issue is the hotspot part. My cell carrier no longer has unlimited data and using my line as a hotspot will kill my monthly data limit in about 20 minutes. Is there any way to get around that while using nav ? Maybe an all to download that saves everything like a nav disc. Also is the internet required to download any apps to this thing ? If I'm at my house can I just connect it to my standard wifi signal ??

That in itself is pointing me toward the N6 but the N6 has been some sketchy reviews as well.

If you are at your house you can connect to your home Wifi network and download everything you need to your sdcard such as all the map data for your choice of Navigation apps. Since you will have all the map data stored on the sdcard (similar to having the Factory Nav disc) you will not need any internet connection when you are on the road to use GPS Navigation. It will include voice turn by turn direction as well.

We'll that changes my opinion. How would the interface be with like an iPod or iPhone for playing music ? Aux input or USB connection ? Is there pre amps for aftermarket amps ?

Yes you can connect aftermarket amps to the Avant-2 unit and you can even adjust subwoofer levels from the touchscreen. There are a lot of advance sound settings you can adjust to make the unit sound great and match your own personal style.

I will try to have more screenshots of the many different features posted up soon at the link below.

Does this (or the Dynavin) unit support SiriusXM? That is the one thing holding me back from purchasing one of them.

Probably a stupid question, but this still uses the stock amp, correct? I personally think the stock amp is pretty good (since it actually has 10 true channels), it's just the OEM speakers that suck.

I was bummed to find d out that the free obd adapter is only for new customers not for existing... These promotions always tend to screw early adopters...

BDUB328I: Yes you can both the backup camera and DVR front camera connected at the same time. The backup camera would be plugged into the dedicated backup camera input and the DVR front camera would connect to one of the USB ports.

The Avant-2 will automatically show the backup camera view when you put the car in reverse.

GDubois: Yes the Avant-2 is all plug and play and would connect directly to the factory stock amp.

Does this work with the OEM CD changer? Not that I even use it, but since it's there it'd be nice.

no, and with SD and USB, and multiple choices of android media players, you wont ever use a CD again....

That is one sick head unit... it looks so much better than most conventional head units. I wish the price wasn't as steep (I'm not saying it isn't justified... I'm just a cheap b*stard). I also have Republic Wireless which doesn't allow tethering, plus they use Sprint network so the service is actually kind of crappy but for $25 a month I can't complain. I am excited about getting the torque app for my phone... technology is pretty amazing.

Absolutely YES.. check my DIY guides linked in my sig for all of the info on installing a backup camera. Not only can it be done, it can be seamless to the install and you will wonder how you lived without it.
