Clutch preservation against rust

Hello guys!!!
I've recently bought clutch kit (LuK) for my car. Thing is that I'm going to change it over a spring next year and I can already see some rust spots building up on the cover.
I know it's probably nothing to worry about, but is there any way how to preserve it from rust over these couple of months? I've already put some WD-40 on it.......
Cheers!

Cosmoline?

Seriously though, that's exactly what WD (water dispersant) 40 is designed for.

Get it out of a humid environment too. Bring it inside where it's air-conditioned.

Just keep it in a cool dry place & don't worry about it.

When these parts are mounted in the bell-housing, they are already exposed to the elements through the vent hole at the bottom.
