Question Just ordered and I have a question (a little long)

Have had my car 2 months now and I am ready to MOD!!!
I need a sig ............................................................ .......................
And a Digital Camera so I can post pics
My first German car :-) have had many imports 300zx twin turbo and a lot of other z cars......... got rid of a 02 Acura tl Type S to get this car I can not believe people compare them ................. they are very different cars the tl is a nice sedan with enough hp's to make you smile when you punch it but that is it ................ no comparison to handling, smoothness of power delivery throughout the rpm range, refinement, ect.ect.

My car specs are 2002 Steel Grey 330i ,PP,SP,BI-XEN,5Spd

I just ordered UUC
Ultimate Short Shifter - Competition*Evo (EVOLUTION II)
Cartridge Bearing Upgrade
Delrin Carrier Bushings - OVAL
BMW Aluminum Pedal set - manual transmission
System•U - Twin Silencer Exhaust for '01-'02 E46 330 and 325 ROUND tips
RK MAGNUM - Polished Aluminum (BMW)5-speed
E-brake handle - Polished Aluminum

Also as soon as Dinan releases the CAI for the 02 330i with Bi-Xenons ( within the next two weeks hopefully) I am going to get the stage three performance upgrade (CAI, Throttle Body, Software)

And my question is, I know alot of you have the UUC SSK, how many installed it themselves was it fairly straightfoward, any problems ?

And if you had someone do it for you haw many hours labor did they charge ?

Would you do it again ?

Thanks for all your help !!!

I'm sure if someone knows the answer, they will post. I figure that since the board went in to a transition yesterday, lot of people have been posting like crazy and your post might have dropped a couple of pages back. Far enough that it might have got lost in all these post. It should calm down soon.

Okay...going to try this one more time....

I would recommend the Fujifilm 2600. 2 megapixels & 3x optical zoom (forget about digital zoom) for $300 this past christmas. I'll attach an image (cropped due to upload size limits).

I haven't done this, but many others have. I'd suggest searching the archive forum. Or, try clicking on Reviews at the top of the page - there are a couple there I believe.

I think most people install it themselves. It's fairly straightforward from what I can tell. I have one sitting in my garage waiting for my M to come. I plan to do it myself as well. It's a little easier on the M though because you don't replace the bushings on the selector arm. So all you need to do is replace the shifter itself.

Ed, could you post a LONG, DETAILED account of your install when you're done? If yours goes well, I may consider it for my M as well. I'll try to keep an eye out for it.

Actually, there's a How-To here on Fanatics. Click waaaaaay up at the top. There's one called "short shifter install". I don't remember how detailed it is though.

Right - but I'm interested in getting a first-hand perspective on installing one in an M3 in particular. I'm thinking long and hard about taking it somewhere to get it done, as I would have to borrow the equipment.

OK. Then I'll take pics, etc. as I go. Should be starting on it in 2-4 weeks.

Not too hard to do

Its pretty easy to do by yourself. You will need either jackstands or ramps. NEVER work under your car with a hydraulic jack or the bmw jack. Takes just a few hours to do. One thing I would recommend most is to not waste your time using the metal cup tool, instead use the double screwdriver technique (save you a LOT more time and frustration, details on the UUC DIY). And the hardest part is taking off the carrier pin. Otherwise, Its not hard to do, just takes a little time and patience. (Copied from my earlier post)

I dont know how much it will cost if you have somebody install it.
I would install it again if anybody needs help
