properly matched (gain),
with no overdriving
no x-over or EQ
puere amplification
in 1 volt out 2volts

you can put a pyramid amp against any "SQ" car amp, and you will not be able to tell them apart, and if you think you can.... there is a guy that will give you $10K on the spot

Yes, but my US Amps will run a lot longer than a Pyramid Amp with the same output, that's the difference. There is an audible difference when an amp reaches its thermal limits. Heat makes things all weird. Heat and vibration are the two environmental factors that kill amps.

My US Amps will be operational long after the Pyramid dies...that's the difference.

build quality and longevity was never an issue,

sure some amps are built better than others, but this discussion was about sound quality not lifespan

OK, so you're saying if you put 3 different amps on the same set of speakers you wouldn't be able to tell a difference???

I don't agree withthe theory that all amps sound the same...they don't. I think upgrading your amp can be one of the most dramatic improvements you can make. Right now, I have a RF Power 551s running my fronts. I plan to get a US Amps 150x2 amp. Similar power but I expect the US Amps to sound better than my RF amp when its 100 degrees outside and the volume has been turned up for awhile. I don't expect to hear a difference at low volume level.

The difference is the build of the amp and its potential. At high volume, an overbuilt amp will not only last longer and play longer, it will still be able to accurately reproduce dynamic music passages without clipping. Pyramid amps can't.

properly matched, with no clippping, not likely, by ear of course, if you use an O-scope, of course you can plot a difference,

a watt is a watt in any amp, same as a HP is HP in any car
