Spent $300 on my V1 v1.7 on ebay. Once again, it saved my ass. I was going over a bridge. When I crested the hill, a cop came flying over. I was doing 65 in a 50mph zone. I was already downshifting to slow down because my V1 was giving warning well in advanced. The cop followed me for about 100 meters (I think it was because I had my DDEs on) and then turned away.
Its a 4-day weekend (military speak) and there are always a ton of cops being anal around military posts looking for speeders and drunk drivers. They randomly run plates so I think that's what he was doing. That's the 3rd time its saved me in 5 months. If I figure the V1 has paid for itself given a ticket is roughly $100. The remote display also helps ALOT! |

Lucky you.....
I just got my V1 last month. I haven't hardwired it yet. I'll do that this week. Still don't know if its a good idea to have it high up on the windshield since its out of my line of sight. Im use to it being lower.

I have had zero issues with it being high in the windshield. In fact, its better according to the V1 website. Another reason being is that its not as obvious in case you do get pulled over. Radar detector=no mercy.

another speeding ticket coming back from lunch
![]() Cop made a point of telling me the distance to 1/10th of a foot from his gun to my front license plate. He was using laser and my detector never went off. Maybe I should go back to 4x4 pick-ups, never got a speeding ticket then.... |

No idea why I get tickets, can't be my immaturity and inability to control my driving speed. Car is just too much fun to drive, and mine is just a stock 328. I had planned on getting an M3 in a couple of years, but just a week ago decided that wouldn't be a good idea, too much power and handling. |
