Shift Knobs, which one?
Thinking about getting a new shift knob. So far I'm thinking about getting the Rob Knob 2 or 3. Kinda leaning towards Rob Knob 3. Any other shift knobs I should look into?
thanks sam |

I've just ordered the Stainless Steel Rob Knob Magnum from UUCmotorwerks. I orderedthis one because it's the heaviest knob i could find, 3 times the weight of a normal RK Magnum! I'll let you guys know how it feels when it arrives. One of the more expensive 'little' mods though, ran me $155 plus shipping.

Does the weight make a difference in feel? is the RK3 going to be heavier then stock? |

The weight makes it easier to shift. This is especially true when you install a SSK which makes shifting effort a little higher.
Check out: http://www.shortshifter.com/knob.htm for a more technical description of why this is so. |

I love my RKII magnum in brushed alum. Goes great with the titanium trim that I have.

I have the Stainless Steel Rob Knob II and I love it. If you have a SSK you're better off getting the Stainless Steel Knob. The extra weight makes up for the extra force required to shift. It almost shifts itself with the Stainless Steel Knob.

I have Hamann EVO
It looks good and the feel is good. But it can't give u the feel of those heavy shift knob.
If you go for EVO, then you should go to Bavarians.com (can't quite remember how it spells). ~$30-40 cheaper than here |

Okay... I think i have my heart set on the RK3 in brush aluminum. I don't have a short shifter, so I don't think I need the extra weight other finishes.
Should I get M stripe or just the UUC logo? Are the gear patterns caps the same as bmw OEM? (if I wanted to get an M stripe cap later) thanks sam |
