Style 71...different lip size?

Is the lip size for the front and rear wheels different on the oem style 71? If so, why do they come like that? Thanks.

Style 71's....

the difference in lip sizes depends upon wether you want a "staggered" set up or not, either in 17" or 18" wheels. Take a look here for a better understanding: http://www.bmwwheels.com/bmwwheels_d...=71&Series=E46

In a staggered set up the front wheel will have the smaller lip width, thus the rearwheel lip will be larger. The lips could also be the same width if you decided to run the same width rims in the front and rear. Hope this helped.

Thank you for the clarification Mine are staggered. I have the oem style 71's wrapped in 225/40's up front, and 255/35's at the rear.
