Exclamation Help with Dinan CAI

I just bought the Dinan aluminum CAI, and the parts guy said that the cai wouldn't work without the Stg II software and that the ecu wouldnt be able to calculate the new information properly. I only had $400 I went ahead and purchased the cai anyways w/o the software. Now i'm not sure whether i should go ahead and install it, or wait until i have enough money to buy the software also. If i recall correctly, there were a few people that installed the CAIs without the software, im just wondering if it's ok to do so. If there no problems then i'm just going to go ahead and install it now, but according to the parts guy he said i should just wait until i get the software... What should i do?

Sorry for the long post... thanks in advance guys.

You can install it. You don't have to have the software for the CAI to work, although it will be better to have both.

Hey man,

Install the CAI. I bought mine two weeks ago wo/the software because I didn't have another $350 for the software (CCA discount). The CAI will work better with STG2, so I plan on getting it eventually.

The install isn't too bad, a few tricky parts, and the dremelling...oh the dremelling.

Anyways, if you have any questions during the install, you can pm/email me, because I still have the install fresh in memory.

You are going to love the sound and the feel from 3,800 - 5,000rpm as well. Plus it will make your exhaust sound more aggressive.

Hope this helps.

Has anyone purchased the CAI, and later got STG2? I would like to know how much of a difference the software makes.

The CAI will work fine without Stg II...

however, I recommend you get STG II as soon as possible. Good Luck!
