hans acs is the man

Hans acs is a ice specialist and a belgium member of this board and a friend of mine.

You should c his latest: 2 alpine tft screens in his headrest , realy cool

Anyway: he wil place the large speaker in the oem front door. it fits perfektly and will dismantel the tweeter it will fit the tweeter oem location in the mirrors. The cross overs go in the door. I will feed them temporaly with a grundig 2 x 12O watt amplifier. But that s not permanent. Later i will buy the soundstream taurantula amplifier 5 channel and add woofer in the trunk and rear coaxal speakers.

But i have time first things first. Now stage 1 is get a decent sound out of the front doors.

This sets costs about 45O dollars when bought in a store for the 2 speakers, tweeters and cross overs

Yeah hans acs has them to. I realy love the sound they make. Of course only later with a full sound system the sound picture will be complete. They will realy make the difference. But i got to start somewhere and i am realy happy with this top produkt. Made in the usa i believe

Yes pictures please! I am doing the exact same thing with the same speakers. I PMed Hans and got his pictures, but you can never have enough. I am currently considering the BA pro series from a few years back because I can get a good deal on them. Does anyone know any major differences between the new 6.5 pros series and the ones from the late 90's? Any major physical differences? Thanks.

later

Later in the rear i will replace the non hk oem speakers with the boston RM6 coaxal and a woofer in the trunk.

Hans explained to me that boston has a particular sound picture and for good results you d better stick with the boston speakers for the rear to.

I can not buy em right now the rear speakers because i only have now a 4 x 6O watt grundig amp. I need 2 x 12O watt for the front so i dont have amp power left.

I will need first to buy me a power amp soundstream, but that cost mucho dollars so i will have to wait for the rear

So, has anyone used or know people who have used the older Boston Acoustic Pro Series 6.5 component speakers? (1995-1998 time frame). I can get a good deal on these but I don't know if fitment would be the same as the newer ones or if there were any problems or issues with the older ones. Here are some pictures of the set I'm talking about***********:

what the deal?

A new set like that costs about 7OO dollars. Whats your deal on these older speakers? How much you have to pay?

Well, the mid range speaker is kind of a bonus. I was going to figure out any possible fitment as well as certain modification when I get the door apart (it might not even be possible). But then again it is a bonus, I will certainly post a pic if I can fit it somehow into the 3.5 inch midrange location in the front door.

Lets say the cost is considerably less than a good price on the 2 component set (let alone the 3 component set) I don't want to comment on the price until I try these speakers out .........once I verify that they work as advertised, the price will be more relavent. But, my biggest concern is that this set is at least 6 years old.
