Subwoofer Sound Entrance

Hey guys, I just recently installed an Alpine V-12 Amp and a 12" Kicker Solo Baric L7 in my E46 330xi. I have already popped out the door for the ski bag and removed it. I was just wondering if anyone else knew of any other tricks or methods to allow more sound to get from the trunk to the interior of the car. It sounds great right now, but I would like to get more sound in there and maybe turn the sub down alittle bit so i don't have to push it do hard. Is there anythign to be done with the seats or rear deck? Thanks for the help!!!

Did you have HK or not? If so, remove the 6x9 subs

Which way is the sub turned? If it's looking towards the trunk door, the whole trunk area will work like a bigger sub box giving you greater sound.

Yeah it is facing the rear of the car. It resonates better that way. Suprisingly the trunk lid doesn't rattle at all.

I dont get it...

All of you there in USA install your subs facing towards to the drunk...thats wrong, its only for the looks, when you open your drunk you will se your subs, but did you buy them to show off or to get better bass into your car , I have installed all my subs facing the seats and you will have to count on me on that one, because if you but them facing the drunk you will loose 30-40% of their air-power. Here is what you gotta do: install the subs facing the rear seats, leave about 50 liters or 1,7qubicfeet room between the seats and subs, then you will have to densify or tighten around the sub with some cotton or some other good material, so the air wouldn`t get into the drunk!!! If you do that I can promise you better quality and more sound. But if you bought your subs to sho-off then go ahead.....

most people believe having the subs facing the trunk sounds better. it's just preference. i'm also going with this setup.

boynix don't all E46 have the battery in the trunk?

raine24 the rear trunk area of the E46 is known to be extremely sealed. If you put the subs looking towards the seats with the kind of baffling you were explaining, the sound would enter muffled into the cabin. By having the sub facing the trunk, and the trunk acting like a huge box, you can put down the rear center armrest and the sub's (which is pounding towards the rear) soundwaves will enter the opening making for a greater sound.
