Angry Geez.. got a speeding ticket for going 35 in a 30 mph area

I was going through Johnston RI on a double lane road (2 lanes on my side) and got a ticket for 35 in a 30 mph zone. I wonder if it has anything to do with being the last day of the month.. I wasn't seriously speeding. So I was traveling down the road and I see a police car pull out to the stop sign on a side street and just as he stops he whips out his laser gun and tags me. I think ticketing me for going just above the speed limit is pathetic.

ARGH...sorry to hear. I hate speeding tickets...

I had to go to the city courts this morning and pay a fine for one. The lawyer I used was pathetic. I still had to show up in person to pay the fine...$120!!!!

thats a bullshit ticket. you have to fight that one in court. speeding tickets are given for unsafe driving. no way is going 35 in a 30 unsafe. fight that to the death!

FIGHT THE SYSTEM!!!

hey guys, here's a site that might be useful. www.ticketassassin.com Some very useful information about fighting a ticket and such. I think the vehicle codes on that site applies to California only. So for you all outta state peeps, you gotta do some researching. and good luck fighting the ticket...it's a pain in the butt....

Thanks guys for your support! Guess I'm going to court to fight it!!

Thanks. I realize I was going above the posted speed limit by 5 mph and I shouldn't have.. but sometimes we all make mistakes and 5 mph in our cars is something easy to do. I'm not saying I am right.. but giving me a ticket for a margin of error is not right. I have 18's on my car.. maybe I am going slighhhtttly faster than my speedo actually says. Thanks again!!
