How mayn sedan owners have painted their moldings?

How much did you pay for the entire set if you bought them new? Thanks!

I wonder if there's any place where they sell those moldings already painted in the desired color? Hmmm....

Is this a shop, store, etc. type? Or is this more of a personal/private seller?

I am seriously considering doing it.

It definately gives the sedan a clean look. I was quoted from my dealership who does body work around $1000. Yikes! So I'm looking for a cheaper place.

Does any one know how hard it is to pull off the side trim. Is there any DIY on this. I have not seen any but I am looking at buying new moldings having them painted and putting them on my self. I know the front and back bumper is pretty easy.

Yeah, I too would rather take them off and put them on myself. The paint job itself, well...that may be something else.

I posted about this yesterday. I have an appointment tomorrow with a local shop that my dealership uses and is supposed to be very reasonable. The will be quoting me for painting of the following:

1. M3 lip spoiler
2. Hamann rear Deck spoiler
3. Side moldings only on my 2002 3330i. (not front or rear strip)

I will let you know tomorrow when I get back from them.

Ok = I just got back from the auto body shop that Open Road BMW sent me to. The price for all three of the above to be painted steel gray to match my car?

$488 including tax!!

If anyone in the NY/NJ area is looking to have parts painted, send me an email and I will give you the info.

Wow that's a good deal...I paid $400 just for the moldings!!! And I thought that was cheap since two other shops quoted me at $1000!!!

Did you have the molding painted including on the front/rear bumpers? I am only doing the doors and front fender strips.

But, the shop owner said that he does a lot of work for Open Road BMW and gives their customers very competitive prices. Lucky me!!

Yeah I did front and rear bumpers as well...why would you leave them unpainted?

Painted mine. Bought all 12 pieces for around $175, painted them plus a few other things for about $250. Had them on a year and still look perfect.
