Just got Streetpilot III... cool !

Just tried it for the first time. Generally, it is a pretty good product. I intensionally made some wrong turns and the unit noticed that in 3-5 secs and did auto-route at once.

Although the LCD is smaller than the stock Nav LCD, it is pretty bright and the size is sufficient to show your current location. Since it is a portable unit, I can share it with my brother and used on his car.

During my 1 hour drive, it lost the satellite signal 2 times. However, it searched the satellite pretty fast and obtained my current location and direction.

I would give it a rating of 8 out of 10. I have used the stock NAV on my friend's BMW, but I was not that impressed due to frequent wrong routing (sorry, maybe I didn't experience the stock one for enough time). But I would like to have the stock NAV in my car because the big LCD is nice and give a clean look to the interior (instead of mounting the unit on the dash).

Anyone has the Streetpilot III please share your experience. Also, please give me some suggestion on mounting the unit in 330i? I just cannot find the perfect place to put it.

Thanks for reading my message!

No stereo hook up needed.

There is a built-in speaker at the ciga-lighter adapter, so no need to do wiring to your stereo system.

It is true that they will give you trun by turn (voice) direction.

Again, I am still looking for a perfect place to mount the NAV, any suggestion??

Thanks!
