Finished installing the bilstein shocks

but I was wondering if the plastic absorber and the protection tube/dust cover as well as the small washer and absorber hat are needed? I just installed the bilstein sport shocks only with rsms. And the one on the oem shock was stuck down by the rusted nut so i just threw the entire thing away. Thanks

How's the ride?I got 328CI and lowered planning to buy sport bilstein shocks

the ride is nice as hell. alot of people say it's stiff, but i live and drive in Mass, known for one of the poorest roads in america and the ride quality is still smooth with a tiny bit of roughness. Handling improve alot, the car is more stable at higher speeds, and the car gets more grip now so you can take faster/sharper turns. Still wondering about those parts though. I would like to order them today, but not sure if they are even necessary at all

Dont know what you mean by "absorber hat", but any washers, etc.....are critical hardware to get the correct spacing/depth, and to prevent any binding. And the dust cover might not look as good as without, but it is protecting the surface of the shock from scoring.

the absorber hat looks like like a top, and it's right on top of the absorber itself. thanks for letting me know, i've been riding without any of the original parts for almost a week now.
