Poor man's supercharger

What do you think of this poor man's blower sold at http://www.electricsupercharger.com/.

Anyone tried it before? I personally think it'll take up almost as much juice from the alternator to run it which would negate the gains.

Two reasons it is a waste of money:

1) It's only on at WOT. Their reasoning is flawed. You want a smooth boost increase as you roll on the throttle and not a violent boost right as you hit WOT.

2) 50 Amps of current draw is very inefficient and would rob any HP you'd gain from the boost.

If they fixed these two issues, I'd consider trying it.
