Soundgate vs. Blitzsafe adapters

Hi, I just bought a Alpine CHA-S634 MP3 CD Changer and Blitzsafe BMW/ALP DMXV.1 CD changer adapter . After reading the forum, I've noticed that most of you who bought the MP3 CD changer had opt for the Soundgate adapter. I'm wondering if the Blitzsafe one will work fine with the changer?

Before I bought a used OEM changer, I was trying to figure out if I should get a Soundgate or Blitzsafe adapter for a new Alpine changer. After spending a fair amount of time searching on the internet, it seems like both work fine and no one has any major or consistent problems with either adapter, even though it does seem like the Soundgate is a little more popular.

Based on all this, I was planning on getting the Blitzsafe---I liked the fact that I could get it from Crutchfield which is an extremely reputable dealer, and I knew they would back the product up if I had any problems. As a bonus, it was also about $20 less expensive.

But if you already have it, just plug it in and see if it works!!!

Hi, I am also thinking about getting exactly what you bought Did you just have a factory stereo without HK system? That's what I have. How did you like your new MP3/CD changer? How's the sound quality? Also, how much do those adaptors cost?

What's this part: Alpine KCA-130B Ai-Net/M-Bus adapter.

Anyone have a picture of this? And is this part needed?

it is absolutely needed. the interface out of the alpine is incompatible with the bmw m-bus interface. at 10-15 bucks its cheap anyway.
