Tirerack price increases

Gary,

What happened between 2 weeks ago and this week. I just checked the prices on the tires I was going to order and they went up by almost $70 a piece
Any reason for this??? I haven't got my wheels, but I'm going to hold off and wait for a price decrease...

The 1st of the month happended. This is the date at which new tire/wheel pricing becomes effective. We price our products on a certain % of what we pay for them. If we have a dramatic increase for what we pay for a product when we reorder the next shipment, that selling price also goes up. In general prices have been on an uptrend for awhile now. The only likely reason for such a dramatic increase is that our previous shipment of the product you were looking at was probably purchased on a closeout or part of a very large order, so we were able to get them at a cheaper price. These sort of special buys aren't common, so as blunt as this sounds, I would not hold your breath about a price decrease any time soon based on current pricing trends.
