Even though BMW does not recommend it in the owners manual, it is not a bad idea, assuming you run one size all around.

Most staggered setups probably have directional tires and you cannot switch them since the tires would be turning in the wrong orientation.

That's the drawback of staggered setups....and understeer.

Yeah, I do. Rotate every 4-6k miles. My sedan is lowered with coilovers so the rears camber and wear out the back tires faster.
