Light weight 18 in Wheels for e46 325CI?
Hi everyone,
I have a 2001 325 Ci and I am thinking of upgrading to 18 inch wheels. However I do not want a heavy wheel.... I currently have the sports package and have the standard 7 spoke 17 inch wheels... So the real question is... Which manufactures(BBS, ACS, Hamman???) have 18 inch wheels in a 18X 8 or 18x8.5 size, and are fairly close in weight to the 17inch Sport Package wheels offered on the 325. Thanks for all your help Last edited by Shan S.; 05-11-2002 at 10:47 PM. |

Most of the BBS 18' wheels are light. Like the RK and RC. Also the SSR GT1(the one peice wheel) is light. There are many more though.
What ever you do stay away from breyton, Hartge and Hamann if you want a light weight wheel.

In before the move
![]() I'd also look at the OZ Superleggeras. I personally don't feel their style, but you may like em. The aforementioned SSR Comps and GT1s, Fikses are also pretty lightweight.

thanks for the info so far...now i need opinions..
Thanks everyone for the info so far.
Right now I am thinking of the following three wheels, and would appreciate your thoughts/ and pictures of Silver e46 coupes with these wheels... however any pictures, and info will be helpful.... 1. BBS RK 2. BBS RKII 3. OZ Superleggera. So again I need your thoughts(good or bad), and any pictures of e46 coupes with the wheels, hopefully silver (actually any color, 2 or 4 door will work )also in the next three posts i will include pictures of the wheels |

Volk racing is so strong now they actually make fitments for BMW...
Volks also has some of the lightest wheels around, like the TE37, LE37, C28N, gramlight.... They are lighter than the common BBS and other multipiece wheels like kinesis or fikse... |

I don't like the look of the BBS RKs that much. I didn't like the OZ Supperleggera till I saw them yesterday on a S2000. The OZs look so much better in person. They look better at an angle. They're also very light... 1010tires.com lists their weight at 17.4 lbs in 18".

I went w/ the 18" M3 replicas from wheel exchange. 22lbs each. Not bad considering the stock M3 18X8 weigh in at 26.75lbs each. I looked at all sorts of 18" wheels for my silver coupe, the only other ones I found that I thought would look good were the Racing Dynamics pieces. I just don't like the look of aftermarket wheels on silver cars, so I stayed w/ an original design.

Volks has gotten so big here that you can now get them for almost any car you want..
As for japanese wheel on euro car... all you have to see is DTMpower's last month's COTM |
