Alternator help!

Yeh so i think my alternator went out so im trying to take it off, so i removed the plastic in front and the air-box. Now taking the bolt out of alternator, but the big ass fan gets in the way. Anyone had this problem before also. Looked at 10bmw10's write-up but he didnt have this problem. Does anyone know how to take the fan off? Or any other help would be appreciated. Thanks
