Oil Changing Question

I'm one of the folks in here who is just too nervous to wait until 15K for my oil change, I personally think it's too long for my comfort. Anyway, I just changed my oil last night and used Mobile 1 full synthetic....I'll probably change my own oil at every 5K interval....with that in mind, I'm thinking about using a synthetic blend instead of fully synthetic at my next change. Since I'll be changing at a more frequent interval, I'd figure I might save a few $ per quart that way. What do you guys think about running synthetic blend in these engines? Thanks in advance!

use pure synthetic oil. mobil 1 5w-30 is good. pure synthetic remains the yellow/golden oil. while using regular oil or synthetic blend oils turns black after awhile.

thats what i know. i've not done an oil change myself, but thats what i would do in your situation.

Absolutely do not use a blend.

Why save $5 at the risk of lower quality oil for your expensive new car? I just don't get the mentality when people want to save a few bucks on the MOST important fluid in your car.

Use FULL synthetic and ONLY FULL synthetic at every oil change. If you want to save a few bucks every 5000 miles...clip some coupons.

I'm not flaming you...just making sure you don't do anything that will harm your car. Good Luck.

I change my oil every 15K mi. but I noticed at 15K mi, the old oil is still not as "black" like it would be in my old car after only 4K mi.

the oil may "look" fine but the filter is probably not filtering out debris as well as it should. If you truly care about the longevity of your car's engine...change your oil more frequently.
