Lip Spoiler Removal

Body shop put it on wrong. Its hanging over the edge of the trunk a little too much. Needs to be moved away from the edge. Need advice on how to remove it and get the tape off of the spoiler. I looked at the badge removal section with in the how to's. Seems like this procedure could work. Not really keen on using a heat gun though. Is there any good websites that can help aid me? I appreciate all the help you guys can give.

I don't think you really have to heat it up that much. Use a blow dryer and dental floss. just heat one area at a time. place the dental floss under the spoiler and wiggle it across. pull upwards so it will be under the spoiler but above the tape. you want to remove the spoiler off of the tape, not the tape off of the car. then dab some goof off on the remaining tape. let is soak through and then just slowly pull off the tape. hope this helps!

actually, you might want to post this in the "general" area. this is the off topic area and it might not be answered.

*shouts* admins, can this be moved over!!!

Re: Re: Lip Spoiler Removal

Conrad,

thanks for the help. Quick question. Where should the heat be applied. Directly to the spoiler or where the spoiler and the trunk lid meet?
